Step 5: Transfer Your Domain to Your Hosting Service

Now you have got your domain name and free hosting service for a sub-domain. You need to transfer your domain name to your free hosting service. For this there are two steps:

1. Set Your Hosting Service Provider's Name Servers in your Domain Control Panel (Get Help and Instructions from Internet Names World Wide through their 24hour online support). If you have got free hosting service from Hypermart then the details are:

Primary Name Server: ns1.hypermart.net or 206.253.222.65

Secondary Name Server: ns2.hypermart.net or 206.253.222.66

Technical Handle: DA3706-ORG

You need to give these details in your domain name control panel.

And for Virtual Avenue free hosting service the details are:

Primary Name Server: ns1.freevirtual.net or 208.146.45.4

Secondary Name Server: ns2.freevirtual.net or 208.146.45.5

Technical Handle: VN53-ORG

As a result of this an update will be generated for Root Servers to change you name server to these, so that whenever someone enters your domain name in their internet browser they get directed to the name server of your free hosting server. This update process may take 3 days to complete and you can always check the ststus by going to Whois Service and searching for your domain name and to see that the name servers are changed to the desired one or not.

2. Next you need to link your free hosting service with your domain. For Hypermart hosting service click here and for Virtual Avenue hosting service click here and skip the step 1 there and enter your domain name in the required field in step2 there and submit it. As a result an entry will be created for your domain name in the DNS script of their name servers, so that when a request from Root Server is forwarded to their name server they show your web pages.
